When electrons and photons meet molecules : measurements, mechanisms, and implications

In this seminar, I will cover the two main axes of my research : electron-molecule collisions and photophysics of gas-phase molecules. In the first part of the talk, I will present recent results obtained with the PIRENEA setup, which allows us to distinguish between isomeric cationic species and to identify the products arising from ion-molecule reactions.

In the second part of the talk, I will describe a state-of-the-art experimental setup designed to measure electron scattering cross sections, and I will discuss how combining cross section measurements with the characterization of transient negative ions contributes to advancing our understanding of electron-induced processes. Finally, I will share some exciting perspectives concerning electron-molecule collision experiments.
